If you want your wheel alignment done correctly please come here first. I wish I had. 3 days of back and forth to big name tire store. They couldn’t get it right. Camber Point got it done first try. Fast service and friendly. Keep up the good work. ✅

FAQ

Why does the car pull to one side even though the wheel alignment is normal?

Check the effect of rubber on drift. This reason for drift is very common (and, surprisingly, even on new rubber). Drift is caused by internal lateral forces in the tires, the so-called force heterogeneity of the tire carcass (in other words, its material has different density along the circumference).

The car doesn't steer, it doesn't "eat" rubber, but the car is hard to control (the steering wheel is "tight").

1. During repairs, tight ball joints or steering rods were installed, the pendulum arm or steering gear (steering rack) was overtightened. Over time, everything can stabilize on its own, except for the overtightening (they need to be brought back to normal).

2. Wheel alignment is incorrectly adjusted

3.Low tire pressure

And yet, what are the main reasons for car theft?

Wheels, tires, wheel alignment angles, chassis faults, body deformation, other external factors affecting the car in motion (road slope, crosswind, uneven distribution of cargo or passengers, and much more). The causes of drift are described in more detail in the section of the article "Reasons for Car Drifting from Straight-Line Motion." on this site.

How to properly assess tire wear?

As the tread depth decreases, the braking distance on wet roads increases. On tires with a minimum tread depth, aquaplaning may occur even at low speeds. For this reason, tires should be replaced as soon as possible, before the tread wear indicators become visible. The presence of these indicators, which are raised 1.6 mm from the bottom of the tread pattern, is mandatory according to international safety regulations.

What are the reasons for a car pulling to the side?

- the wheel alignment angles are incorrect;
- different tire pressure (more than 0.5 atmospheres);
- different pattern or width of the right and left tires;
- uneven tire tread wear;
- sticking of brake cylinders or parking brake cable;
- deformation of suspension or body components;
- faulty CV joints;
- faulty power steering;
- wheels "sharpened" for different camber angles;
- deformation of tire frame, checked by replacing the right and left tires;

Why did the car not pull anywhere before the adjustment, but there was increased wear on the tires, and after the wheel alignment adjustment there was a pull to the side?

Most likely the reason is in the rubber. The car used to drive smoothly because the drift created by the rubber was balanced by the drift created by the incorrect wheel alignment in the other direction. We eliminated one reason - the drift appeared.
